Alluring Artwork, an online platform for paintings and art enthusiasts organized the festival.
International Winter Art Festival 2019 was held at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy from December 28 to December 30. More than 150 artists from all over Bangladesh and twelve other countries participated in the event. Over 350 artworks were displayed in the gallery. On the last day, a competition was held where 18 artists were awarded in six different categories.
The inaugural ceremony of the festival was held on December 28. Hosted by Alluring Artwork’s Vice-president Mahdi Islam Ayon, the program is attended by Ekushe Padak Winner Hamiduzzaman Khan, Chairperson of Architecture Department, BRAC University Dr. Zainab Faruqui Ali, IWS Bangladesh Country head Md. Kauser Hussain, renowned calligrapher Mahbub Murshid, Vice-President of Shikder Group of Companies Mahfuzur Rahman Rahman, BRAC Institute of Languages lecturer Nusrat Jahan Ema and others.
This exhibition featured 53 paintings by Mahfuzur Rahman, the most exclusive of which were his Starry Night series and Impressionism paintings.
BRAC University Art and Photography Society (BU APS) took part as an event partner. Chief Guest, Hamiduzzaman Khan inaugurated and appreciated the exhibition saying, Alluring Artwork has organized such a prestigious event within only ten days. I am impressed not only with their hard work but also with their motivation and dedication. I wish for their success and prosperity.” Other guests also shared their valuable opinions and suggestions.
The closing ceremony hosted special guests like the Deputy Register of BRAC University Md. Shamim Ahmed, renowned Artist Kanak Chanpa Chakma and Shakila Khan Choyan. Before closing the event 18 artists were awarded in 6 different categories.
